My lovingly sweet IRC friends tend to post some tasty stuff in the channel lately! Let me show you what we’ve come up with in the last few days…
http://fragileswan.wordpress.com/
Please, for your own sanity and fragility; go to this website and have a good read…not before you make the cup of coffee though!
I’m proud of anyone who publicly announces their opinions, beliefs and values however only when they aren’t preaching. I generally enjoy hearing out other’s views on things only if they aren’t being pressured onto myself. Fragile Swan tends to have a great outlook on life, I only pray for her that it works out the way she’s planning it to.
Here’s some of my favourite quotes…
“I look at Playboy girls. They’re like so glam. I’m not jealous of them, because I could outdo any one of them.”
“I’m just a girl, but I’m a virgin. Seth can trust me because I have not sinned. When I’m twenty-one I want to get married, so I can bear my first child by age twenty-two. After that Seth will have to find another chaste virgin to promulgate his doctrine.”
“The male is free to mate virgins who then belong to him and cannot mate other males. The human female must not experience sensual pleasure and must mate only with the male to whom she belongs: the male who popped her hymen and released her blood sacrifice of innocence: her bridegroom.”
“700 years from now, the Church will be correct while people will laugh at 2010 A.D. medical technology”
“I looked everywhere on the Internet, but I figured out: everything is not on the Internet. Most things aren’t on the Internet. And if things are ranked by importance, the Internet contains zero.”
“A man shares his seed because he’s generous and caring.”
It only gets better…I’ll bet on that!
I love Minecraft. Building things without the total wank of personalities, needing to look after bodily needs or forming relationships (I’m drawing parallels to The Sims here…). Minecraft lets me do everything I’ve ever wanted and be sociable at the same time!
There was a catch…joining a server with amazing people but with a couple of nuisances who thought griefing was funny (provided it wasn’t happening to them of course)… Despite the server rules and guides, these 2 un-named wankers thought destroying things which led to a map leak; destroying the server was a good thing to do. So I lost about 2 weeks of work (Which surprisingly is a bucket load!) and lost heart in the game. I’ve been invited back to another server and have started building things again, no where near the original size of my previous server buildings!
This is my general symmetry-based mining style…

Symmetrical mining
Here we have my humble abode and hypercube in the background… The original hypercube on the first server was 4 times this size, and frightfully impressive. I got the idea from the similarly shaped Evangelion Angel that kicks a lot of buttt!

hypercube angel
now for the secret passage up into the hypercube (and no the cube is not connected to the top of the house…it’s an optical illusion!)

passage! The glass elevator!
Lucky last, the inside…I miss the original of this because it looked amazing on the inside, like a massive soccar ball and it would completely dizzy your eyes out! <– does that make sense!? It would send you spinning looking inside because not only was it incredibly huge but all the lightwork would create this 3d flip out image! But sigh**** it was all destroyed…

the small version :/
So this afternoon I was linked this video…
http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/video/perth/-/watch/22852777
I wasn’t surprised to hear the government has decided to dump a new detention centre in a small country town and I’ll share with you why…
I grew up in Port Hedland, an incredibly productive town with some bad habits. Despite its wonderful people and beautiful beaches, Port Hedland is one of the highest drug use and trafficking towns with alcohol problems galore and it’s bloody hot to live in! Though don’t get the wrong idea, it’s also an amazing town that people never give credit to and I lived there for 15 years and my parents have lived there much much longer.

The site of the old detention centre, now the luxury beach front apartments!
For over 10 of those years I endured living a couple of streets from the detention centre. You’d hear screams and rants all through the night, you’d get taunted as you walked by and thrown things at and then the horrible news story of them sewing their lips together in protest.
Sure I feel sorry for these people, I’ve seen war-torn countries and I’ve seen poverty; but I do believe our country like all others need to protect us from the danger of the unknown as much as they can. So even though this video does not represent the Northam townsfolk in a positive light, you need to know that living next to a detention centre was damn frightful.
I guess you never heard of the news story where the riot broke free from the centre and bashed the school bus I was sitting in until it nearly tipped…no, that wasn’t on the news.
Nor did you get to hear about the families who were hiding refugees who broke free and ended up hurting people.
Those people lived in fantastic apartments with great food and sea-views lol I was scared to walk down the street and have them yell at me through the massive razor-sharp fences, I had basketballs thrown at me countless times and was beckoned to return them…I’m glad I never took the chance to find out why.
This is ridiculous..something does need to be done about the refugees, but I am fearful for the Northam townsfolk now..their town will be at the mercy of all the millions of $$$ going in to the centre! And Northam is a beautiful small town that most definitely does not deserve this; they’ll be losing all their tourism too!
bus ride feels like heaven…window open, hair flying like mad….can smell the trees. I can’t imagine living anywhere else. The great thing about working in Lesmurdie is you get out of the city for a day or two.
despite that dreadful woman who they call the year 4 teacher, everyone at St Brigids just seems so much happier. It’s because they have coffee machines, and instant boiling water taps, and face towels instead of paper towels or dryers in the bathrooms! tehehehe
I find it amusing that people assume i am mentally unstable simply because I enjoy writing notes on facebook….nobody ever complained in the myspace days!! It’s a good way to vent considering I’ve never liked diaries. It could be worse….it could be that journal website lol
There are some students who irritate you tiny tiny bits (very hard to make me lose patience with students, because I love my job) and then there are those students who you love to bits, no matter how crazy the student may think you are! Again, Jana was a bad teacher today because she was told off by Amy the year 2 student for not bringing lollies…in particular; minties. and Josh seems to have beamed into the *HECK YES MUSIC MAKES SENSE!* category all of a sudden and he’s really improving, but I have realised that there are simply students who have taken so much longer getting used to me as a teacher and now finally all of my students are comfortable with me, it truly does take some students a lot longer to get used to a new teacher. But it’s my private home students that stand out the most, because they have the chance to develop a much more relaxed relationship with you, probably because from day one they get to see your home, animals, and colours of the sofa covers..lol! This year has been quite an experiment and I’ve definitely had to adapt my teaching a lot to accommodate for particular students.
I other aspects of my teaching however I feel I’m failing a bit, wanting to help particular students more, or maybe i’m probably just thinking or expecting i should or need to help them more….will have to work on that part!
life is a rollerrrcoooaster, just wannna riiide iiit! (all night long!yeah!) lol
keep practicing piano everyone!
2 Divine little devices I have accumulated in the last few weeks…
My new Hanvon B10 – Available through Officeworks.com.au online only.
The idea of this device was to have something multitouch. After the devastating theft of my Asus T91, I realised how integral touch devices were to my life! *cough*
Although I am currently lost as to what more to do with the thing other than have a touch piano on it (VERY COOL!) and other little ‘touchy’ things <-lolseewhatididthere… It’s main use is for me to have it as a portable digital music stand (awhaa?)
See I could fork out $1000 for a device thats ONLY use is to display music, or I could buy a touch tablet and get digital music software on it and have more freedom. The only problem is, the software out there is programmed by either very bad programmers, or musicians with too little knowledge to make something effective. The software out there on the internet (whether it’s free or subscribed to) still looks like something from Windows 95 *sigh*….

See it works rather nicely, when displayed full screen; all I have to do is tap the screen to turn the page however a bunch of problems come into play with just using Adobe reader…D.S… Da Capos…Repeats… If that means nothing to you –> It means some music requires me to jump back a certain number of pages and then forward again at certains parts of the music. So far, I can tweak Adobe reader to loop through pages incredibly quickly and easily (YAY! NO MORE NOISY PAGE TURNS!!!!!) However that’s about it. (Sorry the photo is so dark)
So the challenge is this…Are you a programmer? Are you willing to share 50/50 in profits? Because I am dead serious. If I design the program and you write it, then selling this won’t be a problem; I’d bet so many people I know would want to buy something that 1. doesn’t lag, 2. actually looks nice and 3. is actually easy to use for the ones a bit behind in technology.

And finally, my beautiful new Sony VPCX125LG…No longer available for purchase, this was the last one in W.A
This baby has an SSD, an almost MAC-like keyboard and a lot of love to give. This is my new work netbook.

It's a sony....

mmm sony
It’s such a sultry morning, soaking in the sun; loving life…especially when the hangover you’re carrying is a reminder of the fun from the night before…
It’s Oktoberfest people! And after all this time I finally understood what all those drunk Germans were singing…
“Ein Prosit, ein prosit, Gemutlichkeit!!!!!” (then you drink…)
But now for something that has dazzled me on this fine, fine Saturday and that is RTRFM…hangover jazz at http://www.rtrfm.com.au/stream.m3u
It soothes the soul, makes the eyelids relax a little bit (like all good jazz does) and generally makes that hangover easier to handle! Try it some time! But apart from that, feeling a little sight-seeyie? I only just noticed that RTR have developed a wonderful podcast for walking the streets of Northbridge for some tourist sites! You DEFINITELY should check it out and pass it on to anyone travelling Perth! http://www.rtrfm.com.au/northbridgehistory
This is my first ever blog on my first ever website (that isn’t geocities.com) <– oh those were the days!
I am aiming to work bit by bit to set up this webpage for colleagues, friends and hopefully businesses to take an interest in.
But the truth is I’ve just finished writing at 8000 word report and I’m way to brain-dead to write anything useful here! So be patient and hopefully I’ll have something nice setup soon!
